What do you see?

We love horses!

Actually, many people do.

But it's not enough.

We are responsible for their wellbeing, which means we need to know what they require in order to live a healthy life-

and then provide it!

Doing what has always been done just doesn't cut it anymore.

Ignorance is bliss they say, but it surely isn't bliss at all for a great number of animals in our care.

Ethology and Animal Welfare go hand in hand.

We have to educate ourselves on how to love our horses...

In our workshops and courses, you will learn what horses really need in order to live a happy and healthy life.

To be able to truly understand them and their physical, emotional and mental needs, we will look at how horses live in the wild, how nature intended life for them and what that entails.

We offer programs for anyone starting from complete novices to experienced people and horse owners.

Ethology -

the observation of natural life

Ethology is the scientific and objective study of animal behaviour with a focus on behaviour under natural conditions.

Studying the innate characteristics of horses will give us an insight into how they have developed and specialized physically and mentally, in order to adapt to life.

Understanding the WHY is the first step.

We will look into their daily habits and motivations, their social structures, the differences in character vs. roles, etc.

This knowledge is critical for the creation of an adequate environment for our horses and a true connection between human and equine.

Domestication -

the reality of a not so natural life

Domestic horses live in unnatural and often sadly in very inadequate conditions, including anything from what we feed, how and when, to isolation from their own, insufficient movement, etc.

All these factors lead to psychological stress,

which results in behavioural problems (stereotypes)

as much as physical issues and a myriad of

health problems.

It is essential to learn HOW to provide the best possible conditions for our domesticated horses and to break with old habits and myths, no matter how hard, making use of all the new scientific information and research now available.
